Questions about this product?

The Muncie PK11502BSBB hydraulic gear pump/motor provides a versatile option for mobile hydraulic systems requiring either mechanically driven hydraulic flow or hydraulic-powered shaft rotation. Its bi-rotational design supports clockwise or counterclockwise operation when installed and plumbed for the application.

This PK Series configuration combines 3.45 cu. in. displacement per revolution, nominal pump output of 15 GPM at 1,000 RPM, SAE B mounting, and a 7/8" 13-tooth splined shaft. Side and rear straight-thread O-ring ports provide plumbing options when fitting a replacement unit or planning a new installation.

Durable construction with flexible connections

Cast iron construction, a solid one-piece shaft, and heavy-duty roller bearings support the PK Series’ use in demanding mobile hydraulic applications. The four-port arrangement gives installers a choice of connection locations, helping accommodate hose routing and surrounding equipment.

The ability to use the unit as either a pump or motor also makes it useful across different hydraulic system designs. Select it by the required displacement, shaft connection, mounting arrangement, and operating conditions—not by nominal flow alone.

Feature Practical benefit
Bi-rotational design Supports either direction of rotation with appropriate plumbing
Pump/motor capability Serves different hydraulic power-transfer requirements
Cast iron construction Provides a robust housing for mobile hydraulic service
Heavy-duty roller bearings Support the rotating assembly
Solid one-piece shaft Provides a direct mechanical drive connection
Side and rear ports Offers flexibility in hose routing

Choosing between pump and motor operation

In pump service, the shaft receives mechanical power and produces hydraulic flow. The 15 GPM designation refers to output at 1,000 shaft RPM; it is not a constant flow rate at every operating speed.

In motor service, hydraulic flow drives the shaft. Select the unit against the required shaft speed and torque, available hydraulic supply, and system losses. Muncie classifies the PK Series for high-speed, low-torque motor applications.

Application What to match
Direct-mounted hydraulic pump PTO output flange, spline, available torque, and operating speed
Hydraulic motor Supply flow and pressure, required output speed and torque, and return conditions
Replacement pump/motor Complete part number, displacement, shaft, mounting, and port arrangement

Before ordering

This configuration has no integral pressure relief valve. Provide appropriate system pressure protection.

Check Guidance
Mounting fit Confirm bolt pattern, pilot dimensions, spline engagement, and installation clearance
Port connections Use matching SAE straight-thread O-ring fittings
Rotation and plumbing Verify the required inlet/outlet arrangement for the direction and application
Operating conditions Keep speed and pressure within the model’s ratings
Pump inlet conditions Observe the published maximum inlet vacuum of 5 in. Hg and inlet back pressure of 150 PSI
Hydraulic fluid Follow Muncie’s viscosity and startup recommendations
