Questions about this product?

The UnitedBuilt Choice 5406-24-12 is a hex reducing bushing with 1-1/2" male NPTF x 3/4" female NPTF.

This reducing bushing adapts a larger female pipe port to a smaller male-threaded fitting or line connection. Its external male threads fit the larger port, and its internal female threads receive the smaller connection. Read the end order carefully when replacing a bushing: the first dash size is the male end and the second is the female end.

Reduce a larger pipe port to a smaller connection

The hex bushing combines the size transition in one threaded component. This arrangement is useful when a compatible smaller connection must join an existing larger port without replacing that port. Check access to the bushing hex and the attached fitting before assembly, especially where nearby components limit wrench movement.

Feature Benefit
Larger male and smaller female ends Adapts a matching larger female port to a smaller male-threaded line or fitting.
Hex bushing form Combines the size transition in one threaded fitting.

Before ordering

A reducing bushing changes connection size, not the allowable pressure of the equipment or the flow capacity required by the circuit. Confirm those requirements independently. Use the fitting supplier’s assembly procedure for each tapered pipe joint, and do not force a mismatched thread or back off a tightened joint to achieve alignment.

Check What to confirm
External male end Match the larger female equipment port to the bushing’s male nominal size and NPTF thread.
Internal female end Match the smaller male line or fitting to the female nominal size and pitch.
Clearance Allow room for the bushing hex, the mating fitting and installation tools.
System requirements Confirm actual service ratings and required flow; a connection-size change is not a performance rating.

Confirm the supplied part’s pressure and temperature limits, material compatibility and suitability for the operating fluid before installation. Connection size alone does not establish a service rating. Isolate and fully depressurize the circuit before work, and follow the equipment and fitting supplier’s installation procedure.
