The Victaulic Style 78 Snap-Joint coupling provides a quick-disconnect connection for compatible Original Groove System (OGS) carbon steel piping. It combines a ductile iron housing, manually operated locking handle and Grade E EPDM gasket for fast access to piping that requires periodic disconnection or maintenance.

Applications

The Style 78 is intended for piping connections that require quick disconnection for inspection, cleaning or maintenance. It can support compatible water-transfer and water-truck piping assemblies when the pipe, gasket, pressure rating, anchoring and system design meet Victaulic requirements.

Service note: Grade E EPDM is not compatible with petroleum or steam service. The piping system must be fully depressurized and drained before the coupling is disconnected or serviced.

Installation note: Style 78 couplings are not designed for eccentric loading and are not recommended at the end of concrete-pumping booms or on vertical risers taller than 30 feet.
