Victaulic Style 07 Zero-Flex rigid grooved coupling joins OGS grooved pipe with a rigid joint that restricts axial and angular movement. The offered configurations combine orange-enamel ductile-iron housings with a Grade E EPDM gasket.
Select this coupling where the piping design requires a rigid connection rather than the movement available from a flexible coupling. Confirm support requirements and the pipe specification; a rigid coupling does not remove the need for proper system supports.
| Feature | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Rigid joint | Restricts axial and angular movement at the connection. |
| OGS connection | Joins compatible grooved pipe, fittings, valves and accessories. |
| Grade E gasket | Supports compatible water-service sealing within its stated limits. |
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer / style | Victaulic Style 07 |
| Housing | Ductile iron, ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12 |
| Finish | Orange enamel |
| Gasket | Grade E EPDM; green-stripe identification |
| Gasket temperature range | -30Β°F to +230Β°F, subject to fluid compatibility |
| Groove system | Victaulic Original Groove System (OGS) |
| Maximum working pressure | 750 psi for offered 1-1/2-inch through 4-inch sizes;700 psi for offered 6-inch size |
Pressure and end-load limits are totals from all internal and external loads, based on ANSI B36.10-sized carbon-steel pipe grooved to Victaulic specifications; confirm the pipe material, wall thickness, size and complete joint design. For stainless steel, check Victaulic publications 17.01 and 17.09 rather than applying carbon-steel values directly.
| Nominal pipe size | Manufacturer part number |
|---|---|
| 1-1/2" | L014007PE0 |
| 2" | L020007PE0 |
| 2-1/2" | L024007PE0 |
| 3" | L030007PE0 |
| 4" | L040007PE0 |
| 6" | L060007PE0 |
Do not use this Style 07 coupling on PVC or CPVC pipe.
Grade E EPDM is not compatible with petroleum or steam service. Confirm the complete gasket-service recommendation for the fluid and temperature. The coupling includes its specified gasket; adjoining pipe, fittings and system components are separate selections.
| Check | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Size and profile | Match nominal size, actual pipe outside diameter and OGS groove dimensions. |
| Joint function | Select rigid or flexible behavior to suit the piping design; provide the required supports. |
| Gasket identification | Select Grade E EPDM as specified here; do not assume Grade EHP or nitrile has identical service limits. |
| Stainless-steel pipe | Use the required Victaulic RX rolls for light-wall/thin-wall stainless pipe and verify the applicable grooving and performance data. |
| Installation safety | Depressurize and drain the whole affected system, including isolated branches, before installation, adjustment or opening the joint. Follow Victaulic installation instructions. |
