The UnitedBuilt AV1100 is the current evolution of UnitedBuilt’s original purpose-built air-operated spray valve design for water truck applications. Designed and manufactured in the USA, this proven valve design has been widely imitated throughout the aftermarket.
Introduced in 2011 as the updated successor to the legacy UnitedBuilt AV9030, the AV1100 is fully interchangeable with the earlier valve. An existing AV9030 can be replaced with an AV1100 without modifying the water truck plumbing or grooved connections.
The updated AV1100 design features a serviceable urethane seal secured by injection-molded retainers. The seal can be easily replaced if it becomes worn or damaged, reducing repair complexity and helping extend the operating life of the valve.
Engineered for demanding construction, mining, road-maintenance, and dust-control environments, the AV1100 features a durable die-cast A380 aluminum body, 3-inch grooved connections, and dependable air-to-close operation. Its purpose-built design provides reliable spray control while helping protect the water truck pump and plumbing system.
An internal spring keeps the valve seated under static water pressure when the truck is shut down and air pressure is depleted. This helps prevent unintended water leakage or drainage while the equipment is parked.
During operation, applying air pressure closes the valve with a smooth, controlled action that helps reduce water hammer and hydraulic shock within the plumbing system. When the control air is exhausted and the water pump pressurizes the system, the valve automatically opens to provide consistent flow to the spray nozzles.
The AV1100 can be installed inline or at the end of a spray line and used with adjustable spray heads, fan nozzles, flushing nozzles, side sprays, and other compatible water truck spray components. For faster air evacuation and more responsive valve opening, installation of a quick exhaust valve at the air supply port is recommended.

Operational Note
Avoid operating the water pump against a completely closed discharge unless the system includes a properly sized bypass or pressure-relief circuit. Closing all discharge valves while the pump is operating can increase system pressure and place unnecessary stress on the pump and plumbing components.
