This straight hose adapter joins a compatible 1-1/2-inch-ID hose to a -24 male JIC connection. The hose-barb end and female swivel end serve different purposes: one attaches to the hose, while the other connects to the matching hydraulic fitting. Verify both ends when replacing an existing assembly.
Connect hose to a 37-degree JIC fitting
The female JIC nut can turn during installation while the hose remains in its selected position. Its seal is made at the mating 37-degree flare surfaces, not by sealing the threads. The straight body keeps the connection in line where a directional change is not required; check the available hose route and minimum bend radius separately.

Select the hose attachment hardware with the hose and fitting supplier rather than assuming that any clamp or crimp ferrule will fit. Keep the JIC flare surfaces clean and inspect them for damage before assembly. A matching thread diameter is not enough if the seat angle or sealing design differs.
