UnitedBuilt Choice Brass 90° Street Elbow 3400X8 changes the direction of a threaded pipe connection by 90 degrees. It has 1/2" Male NPT x 1/2" Female NPT connections and a brass body.

One male end threads into a female port, and the female end accepts a male pipe fitting. The street-elbow configuration makes this change of direction without adding a separate nipple between the elbow and the female port.
